Light in the Darkness

Jeez, it's been a while, hasn't it?

Well, two hard drive crashes and a complete rebuild later, I am back. I never really abandoned this project, it just got delayed with my first crash, then put to the side when I lost half of the work I'd done so far. Thankfully, I finally have both the budget and the time to upgrade, so progress has resumed!

Script is being updated, models are being adjusted, coding is.. all over the place, but is coming along. I honestly don't know what I was thinking a year ago with half of this stuff. Multiple images flying around the screen at once? And what was that menu? And why didn't I have my lore in the game? Welp, all that is being fixed now.

Adding a encyclopedia(in the guise of Raldin's Notes) allows me to put background lore and images in a contained place where it won't interfere with the pace of the game. Changing plug-ins related to the menu and the text allows me to get across more information in a shorter period of time. Gallery will now only have CG images, you'll be able to see more about what you're choosing to do before you do it, I'm adding support for a log.. basically stuff that should have been there since the start.

As for the character models, well, take a look at Liani there. She's been updated to be a little more cute, a little more sexy, and a little more interesting in her outfit choice. Thanks to things like this, I'm able to layer clothing more efficiently and make clothing look a little less.. shrink-wrapped. I'm taking the fact that I'm missing several assets(like Kamea's hair!) and using that as an excuse to redesign everyone. Hey, maybe everyone will actually have different outfits every day and I can avoid that stupid anime trope, eh?

Anyway, I can't say there will be a update SOON - I have a job and there's a Game Jam coming up - but a update IS happening!

For those who have already brought the game, I'll have to think of a bonus for you guys. I'm considering making the base game free and only the paid version having the lewd scenes, but that seems a little crass, so I'm not sure yet. I'll come up with something!

Anyway, I'll keep you guys updated. Long story short - I'm back!
